CGS Licht- und Tontechnik

Company

CGS Light and Sound Technology “yesterday”

In 1999, Christian Geyer set up the Light and Sound Technology department of the parent company CGS Analysen-, Mess- und Regeltechnik. Already as a teenager, Christian was fascinated by light and sound technology. He used state-of-the-art technology for his regular stints as a DJ in regional clubs; on which he placed very high demands from the start. The young department was able to quickly prove its worth through many rentals by event organisers. Thanks to continuous further training, Christian Geyer has been awarded the titles “Master of Event Engineering” and “State-certified Electrical Engineer” – an important foundation for the development of the company’s expertise. The focus at the time was on beer tents, DJ and cover band events. Countless bands and organisers booked CGS services for over 1000 events annually.

CGS Light and Sound Technology “today”

2011 – a year of great changes.

The acquisition of a very large number of loudspeaker systems from the German premium manufacturer d&b Audiotechnik was the first step into the dry hire market. From this point onwards, the CGS Light and Sound Technology department concentrated entirely on the dry hire market, in the segments lighting, sound engineering and rigging.

In order to be able to offer a broad spectrum of high-quality event technology, we are constantly investing in new products. A comprehensive range of recognised manufacturers – d&b Audio, TW-Audio, Yamaha, Midas, Avid, Pioneer, Clay Paky, Martin, Robe, SGM, MA Lighting, JB-Lighting etc. – is available in our rental warehouse. Our top priorities are good service, high availability rates and well-maintained equipment in perfect condition. With our company-owned vehicle fleet, we are able to offer customers a high degree of flexibility and can also transport CGS equipment to the desired destinations at short notice.

For years the company has continuously expanding its equipment stock and hiring new expert staff, now making CGS one of Germany’s top dry hire companies.

The Eurovision Song Contest, Wacken and Echo are just some of the events that have used CGS systems.
